Harsimran (Sam) Somal earned his Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Iowa. He is interested in computational statistics. He briefly worked for the US Federal Government before the pandemic unexpectedly reignited his desire to teach. He has taught in the statistics department at UVA for 2 years. Prior to that, he taught statistics for applied math, engineering, and business majors.
