How to Take Summer Session Courses

• Current students: No application needed, unless you're graduating in May or participating in the Summer Language Institute. Enroll in SIS starting in March.
• May 2026 graduates should apply as a visiting student.
• Returning students: If away for one or more semesters, you must be readmitted by your school of enrollment.
• Incoming first years or transfers who have received and accepted an offer of admission can take summer courses. Email us at summer@virginia.edu to learn more.
• Community Scholars should apply as a visiting student.
• BIS students should contact their program to learn about summer registration.

Students can view and pay tuition and fees through their SIS account. Student Financial Services has additional information about student accounts and billing.
